Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

We are a patient-focused medical practice seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. The ideal candidate is highly skilled and experienced in providing comprehensive support in a primary care environment and is passionate about delivering excellent patient care. In this role, you will be responsible for triaging patients and obtaining accurate vital signs, performing medication reconciliation, and updating health histories at each visit. You will assist physicians during exams, procedures, and treatments, as well as conduct point-of-care testing, blood draws, and ECGs. You will ensure that all labs, imaging, reports, and consultation notes are available in the EMR prior to appointments, and process prescription requests under provider direction.

You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness, adequate supplies, and properly functioning equipment. Maintaining instruments, preparing items for sterilization, and completing required logs and daily or weekly checks (including refrigerator, emergency kit, and autoclave) are essential parts of this role. The position requires strict adherence to infection control and OSHA standards, as well as participation in quality improvement activities and performing additional duties as assigned by physicians.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare or primary care setting, along with strong interpersonal, communication, and patient-service skills. The ability to multitask and work collaboratively as part of a clinical team is essential. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is required, with athenahealth experience preferred. Candidates must hold a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential. CPR or BLS certification is also required.
