The Human Resources Specialist ensures company compliance with government laws and agencies including EEO, OSHA, wage and hour, and unemployment. Manages payroll activities as well as day-to-day benefits administration, including new hire enrollments and qualifying life events. Ensures strict confidentiality standards are met and maintained. Measured against performance plan goals and objectives. Responsible for departmental performance. Duties and Responsibilities:· Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering policies, and helping resolve work-related issues.· Handle all compliance and reporting tasks (401k audits, worker’s compensation audits, annual EEO-1 reporting, annual OSHA reporting, etc.).· Responsible for administering all payroll activities to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.· Collaborate with other members of the HR team to ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations.· Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.· Perform staffing duties, including refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.· Assist with the recruitment process when necessary.· Supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to recruitment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.· Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems and safety and recreation programs.· Serve as the Safety Officer for the company, to include setting safety standards, ensuring they are met, and facilitate safety committee meetings on a regular basis.· Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.· Nurture a positive working environment.· Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in HR, Psychology, or related field.· 4 years of HR management experience.· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.· Demonstrated experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity.· Demonstrated experience leading human resources in a high growth, changing organizational environment.· Demonstrated excellence in consulting skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.· Demonstrated ability to build and work successfully in a high-trust environment.· Superior oral and written communication skills, public speaking skills, and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:· Master’s degree in HR or a related field.· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.· Experience in a manufacturing environment.Physical / Mental Demands:· Working conditions are normal for an office environment.· Work may require weekend and evening work.· Work under stress in a fast-paced environment.· Must be alert, able to concentrate, and use good judgment.· Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking.· Public speaking.
