Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare and submit accurate claims using DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing compliance.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients prior to billing.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes.
- Maintain detailed records of billing transactions within EMR and EHR systems.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to medical billing.
- Update and maintain patient information accurately within medical records systems.
- Assist with audits and documentation reviews as needed to ensure accuracy in billing practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related healthcare administrative roles.
- Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) platforms.
- Prior experience in medical collections and handling insurance claims is preferred.

Pay: $30.00 - $48.00 per hour
