What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multimedia Journalist position at MediaCo Holding Inc?
We are looking for a driven, creative, and curious Multimedia Journalist to join our award-winning news team. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, great multi-tasker, deadline-drive, and eager to learn and grow. This is not a desk job – you will have to shoot, write, edit, and present compelling content across multiple platforms. What You’ll Do:
- Research, pitch, shoot, write, edit, and present stories for daily newscasts and digital platforms
- Deliver live reports with clarity, confidence, and urgency
- Create content that reflects and engages our communities i
- Develop and maintain sources in the community and stay on top of issues that impact our viewers
- Actively engage with viewers on social media and through digital platforms
- Collaborate with producers, photographers, and other MMJs to develop impactful content
- Meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, preferred
- 1-2 years of reporting experience preferred, but not required
- Preferable to be able to shoot and edit with non-linear editing software (Edius, Premier, or Final Cut Pro)
- Strong news judgement and storytelling skills
- Ability to produce content under deadline pressure
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Familiarity with AP style and newsroom content management systems is a plus
- A passion for news and a drive to win
