About the Role
One of the country's premier city magazines is hiring a Senior Editor to join its editorial team. The publication produces award-winning journalism across print, digital, and social media, covering personalities, politics, city life, culture, and real estate, along with signature franchises and live events. The brand is known for in-depth storytelling, sumptuous design, and indispensable service journalism.
This is a longform-first role. The Senior Editor will conceptualize, assign, and edit magazine features of 4,000 words or more, write several deeply reported longform stories per year, and cultivate a stable of top freelance writers. The editor will also produce a weekly longform newsletter and contribute ideas and energy to a small, tight-knit editorial and art team. Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience where longform narrative journalism has been the center of their career, not an occasional assignment.
The publication operates as a remote workplace, but given the nature of the coverage, candidates should be based in Boston, willing to relocate, or willing to travel to the area frequently.
