The Media Research Center (MRC), known as "America's Media Watchdog" is dedicated to exposing and combating bias in the news media, entertainment, and Big Tech. Through its various divisions, MRC promotes free speech, media accountability, and conservative values while providing news analysis, original reporting, and research on the influence of media and technology.
Role Description
The Media Research Center’s paid internship is the premier program for students looking to advance their career in conservative media. Interns work alongside industry professionals to play an active role in accomplishing the MRC’s mission: to expose and neutralize left-wing media bias.
Available Internship Divisions:
- NewsBusters: Monitor media coverage, identify bias, and write blog content.
- Development: Assist with fundraising, events, donor relations, and database management.
- Graphic Design: Create digital and print materials, including social media graphics, ads, and printed marketing material.
- Government Affairs: Support outreach efforts and relationship management with policy and organizational partners.
- Free Speech America: Research online censorship and monitor bias across media and technology platforms.
- Legal Fellow: Conduct legal research and writing, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) projects. (Open to law students who have completed their first year.)
- Public Relations: Pitch staff from across the MRC for media appearances, build reporter lists, and clip media appearances
- Marketing: Support social media campaigns, content creation, analytics, and digital engagement.
- MRCTV: Research, script, and produce content on media issues.
- CNSNews: Report from Capitol Hill, attend press briefings, and publish original news stories.
- Tech/IT: Assist with software, networking, technical support, and data management projects.
