Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Medford Veterinary Clinic. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and take a leading role in client education. Your expertise will contribute to delivering top-tier veterinary services, supporting pet owners, and promoting animal health and well-being. Duties

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and monitoring anesthesia.
  • Perform laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, fecal testing, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately.
  • Handle animals safely using animal restraint techniques for dogs and cats.
  • Operate diagnostic radiology equipment such as X-ray machines and interpret radiology diagnostics under supervision.
  • Support critical & intensive care patients by monitoring vital signs during anesthesia for general anesthesia or veterinary critical care procedures.
  • Maintain aseptic technique during surgical assistance and veterinary procedure assistance to prevent infections.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-visit care to ensure excellent client communication.

Qualifications

  • Certified Veterinary Technician credentials or 5 years experience as a Non-Certified Veterinary technician.
  • Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong foundation in veterinary terminology.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record-keeping and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiology procedures including X-ray operation is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in emergency medicine and veterinary anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
  • Ability to handle animals confidently using animal restraint techniques across different species including equine clients.
  • Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking skills in critical & intensive care settings.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
