We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team in New Castle. This vital role involves delivering prompt, professional pre-hospital emergency care and transportation to patients in need. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Provide immediate emergency medical care, including airway management, vital signs assessment, and basic life support procedures.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities while monitoring their condition and administering appropriate interventions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history collection, to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Utilize medical terminology accurately while documenting patient information clearly and comprehensively.
- Manage airway devices (DME) and administer medications or injections as authorized by protocols or medical direction.
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures such as venipuncture or medication administration to prevent infection.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, adhering to traffic laws and driving protocols, including heavy lifting when necessary for patient handling.
- Collaborate with hospital staff during triage and critical care transport, especially within Level I Trauma Centers or other specialized facilities.
- Prior experience working in critical care environments such as hospitals or emergency rooms is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, medication administration, and patient assessment techniques.
- Experience with trauma centers—particularly Level II trauma center experience—is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient evaluation.
- Hands-on experience with emergency medicine procedures including injection administration and vital signs monitoring.
- Valid EMT certification with current licensure; additional certifications in advanced airway management or critical care transport are advantageous.
