Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry with a strong cardiac background to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. This role focuses on caring for patients with cardiac conditions, including post-cardiac procedures and structural heart cases, requiring continuous monitoring and timely intervention.
The RN will work in a dynamic environment, delivering patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients with a focus on cardiac conditions
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and promptly respond to abnormalities
- Care for patients pre- and post-cardiac procedures (e.g., cardiac cath, angiogram, TAVR)
- Administer medications including cardiac drips, anticoagulants, and IV therapies
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs
- Manage IV lines, central lines, PICC lines, and ports
- Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care
- Assist with wound care, surgical drains, and post-operative recovery
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure patient safety at all times
Required Qualifications:
- Active PA or Compact RN License
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- ACLS (AHA) – Required
- NIHSS Certification – Required
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg Telemetry experience
- Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
