Summary of Function:
In this hands-on leadership role, the Program Manager leads the Launch Engineering function and is responsible for ensuring the successful execution and delivery of customer projects, meeting quality, timing, and customer expectations. The position ensures appropriate staffing and technical support for program management, process development, production-line and launch activities, and project documentation, while also managing selected projects. The Program Manager establishes and maintains effective systems that support Medbio’s quality objectives and continuous improvement.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Manager reports to the VP of Quality & Engineering and maintains strong working relationships with Quality, Tooling, Operations, Sales, Human Resources, and other functions required for successful project execution.
Liaise with other Medbio sites and participate in decisions concerning capacity transfers, tooling strategy, supplier escalations, and allocation of resources across sites or projects.
Support Sales and quoting as a technical subject-matter expert in injection molding, tooling, manufacturability, and project-launch requirements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment, hiring, development, workload allocation, and supervision of Orchard Park project engineering personnel in support of Medbio’s growth strategy.
- Determine training and development needs and ensure appropriate ongoing development of the engineering team.
- Lead the planning and execution of all Orchard Park tooling and launch projects to meet customer requirements, committed timelines, and company financial objectives. Maintain consolidated project tracking and portfolio reporting; forecast launch timing, workload, capacity, and resource needs; manage project risks; prioritize the project portfolio; and ensure agreed scope, deliverables, and major customer commitments are met or appropriately escalated.
- Maintain adequate engineering coverage for scientific molding and assembly-process development; tooling, specifications, and bills of material for new and transfer projects; and appropriate support for products transitioning into production.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new ideas, processes, and technologies.
- Ensure the engineering team completes appropriate qualifications and validations and supports effective root-cause investigation and corrective action.
- Develop and implement procedures that improve the quality and consistency of engineering services.
- Understand and manage project economics, resource trade-offs, NRE, budget impacts, and the financial consequences of delays or scope changes.
- Lead and support continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain KPIs aligned with the strategic plan, including launch metrics and targets; ensure data consistency; analyze trends; and report portfolio performance to leadership.
- Review dimensional reports and ensure appropriate action plans are developed for tool grooming.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
- Complete staff payroll administration, including timecard and PTO approvals.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Eight to ten years of project or program management experience preferred, including experience in plastic injection molding.
- Strong working knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and injection mold tooling.
- General understanding of automation systems and equipment.
- Strong computer skills, including CAD, Microsoft Office, and MRP/ERP systems.
- Strong product- and tool-drawing interpretation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Working knowledge of applicable ISO requirements related to design, process, document control, and GMPs.
- Ability to perform the standard duties and responsibilities expected of this position within the industry.
Primarily on-site.
- Regular presence at the assigned location is required.
- Approximately 10-25% travel.
- Cross-site support as required.
