Location: This position may be based at any of our Medbio facilities in Grand Rapids, MI; Orchard Park, NY; or Clinton Township, MI.
Summary of Function:
The Director of Marketing will lead Medbio’s marketing strategy and execution, strengthening the company’s position in priority healthcare markets and building a measurable, pull-based engine for qualified growth. This role is accountable for positioning, digital marketing, demand generation, content development, and sales enablement, ensuring that marketing investments translate into target-account engagement, qualified pipeline, and revenue opportunities. The Director of Marketing will lead the internal marketing function and external agency partners, collaborating with sales, technical, and operational leaders to translate Medbio’s capabilities and customer outcomes into a differentiated market presence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Medbio’s marketing function and agency partners, building organizational capability in strategic positioning, demand generation, content development, and customer engagement.
- Define and execute an integrated marketing strategy aligned with Medbio’s commercial growth goals, ideal customer profile, and priority markets.
- Own Medbio’s market positioning, value proposition, messaging architecture, and brand standards across all customer touchpoints.
- Build a pull-based demand generation engine that attracts and engages targeted Healthcare OEMs and creates qualified commercial opportunities.
- Lead digital marketing across the website, SEO and paid search, LinkedIn, email, account-based marketing, retargeting, and marketing automation.
- Partner with Sales to define target accounts, lead qualification criteria, CRM handoff processes, and shared funnel metrics from initial engagement through opportunity creation.
- Develop a disciplined content strategy and editorial calendar that delivers technical case studies, application stories, thought leadership, videos, and sales collateral on schedule.
- Partner with Sales, Technical Sales, Engineering, and Operations to translate complex manufacturing capabilities into compelling customer value and quantified proof.
- Improve Medbio’s website experience, search and AI discoverability, market-specific content, calls to action, and conversion paths based on buyer needs and performance data.
- Lead customer, market, and competitive research to identify buyer needs, industry trends, whitespace, and opportunities to differentiate Medbio.
- Develop integrated plans for industry events and conferences, including pre-event targeting, on-site activation, content, and disciplined post-event conversion.
- Own marketing budgets, agency scopes, project plans, and performance dashboards, continuously reallocating resources based on qualified pipeline, conversion, and return on investment.
Organizational Relationships:
The Director of Marketing reports directly to the VP of Sales and Marketing and provides leadership and direction to the Marketing Manager.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- 10–15 years of progressive B2B marketing experience, preferably within medical devices, life sciences, contract manufacturing, or another complex technical industry.
- Proven leadership experience managing marketing teams and external agency partners.
- Demonstrated success developing differentiated positioning and demand generation programs that contribute to qualified pipeline and revenue.
- Strong command of digital marketing, content strategy, SEO/SEM, account-based marketing, CRM, and marketing automation.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, analytical, and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical detail into compelling business value.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform the standard practices required in this type of role within the industry, including travel (20–30%) to customer sites, industry events, and Medbio facilities.
Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
