Job Description:
Our Government client seeks an Operations leader to analyze the current state of operations, budgets, and revenue streams at one of their laboratories. After analysis, this analyst will work with leadership and staff to create and implement an approach to increase operational efficiency and generate new revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and document the laboratory's current state, including its financial streams, laboratory services, and resources.
- Calculate the true cost of operating the laboratory against its current budget, considering costs of testing, instrument depreciation, and other expenses.
- Document financial, organizational, operational, and structural gaps in the laboratory.
- Assess the physical space and infrastructure's ability to meet current and future needs.
- Estimate the expected lifespan of the building and identify renovation or replacement needs.
- Analyze revenue streams and develop a funding model that supports all current and future services.
- Pursue legislative pathways to secure additional state resources for the laboratory's mission.
- Examine the implications of increasing private testing, both financially and regulatorily.
- Revisit state, federal, and private programs supported by the client and determine their cost-effectiveness.
- Develop a program for inspection and accreditation of laboratories and laboratory services.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of laboratory finances, purchasing, and overall operations.
- Previous experience working in the Government space, with knowledge of Ohio business laws, regulations, grant funding, and consulting experience on similar projects.
