Position: Director, Patient Access Training & Organizational Development

Client: Healthcare Provider Client

Length: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

Location: Remote with the ability to travel to facilities in Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan, & Eastern Ohio)


Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Patient Access Training & Organizational Development to lead the design, implementation, and standardization of enterprise-wide training initiatives supporting a large-scale Patient Access transformation.


This leader will play a critical role in building a best-in-class training organization as the client centralizes Patient Access operations across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will combine deep operational knowledge of Patient Access with experience developing scalable training programs, driving organizational change, and supporting operational transformation.


This position is ideal for a seasoned Patient Access training leader who may currently be a Training Manager, Revenue Cycle Education Manager, or Senior Training Leader ready to step into a director-level role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the client's enterprise Patient Access training strategy.
  • Build and standardize onboarding and ongoing education programs across Patient Access.
  • Design and implement training curriculum for:
  • Registration, Scheduling, Referrals, Eligibility, Pre-Access, Financial Clearance
  • Develop standardized: Training materials, Job aids, Learning pathways, Competency assessments, SOPs and documentation
  • Create and maintain eLearning content utilizing LMS platforms and digital learning technologies.
  • Partner with operational leaders to support enterprise-wide Patient Access transformation initiatives.
  • Drive organizational change management efforts during operational and technology implementations.
  • Establish training governance, quality standards, and performance metrics.
  • Lead and mentor an existing training team while preparing the organization for future growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve workforce readiness, operational consistency, and patient experience.
  • Eventually assume ownership of Patient Access Quality initiatives as the function matures.


Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or Healthcare Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise training or organizational development initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of Patient Access operations, including:
  • Experience with Patient Registration, Scheduling, Referrals, Eligibility Verification, Pre-Access
  • Experience building enterprise training programs from the ground up.
  • Strong curriculum development and instructional design experience.
  • Experience implementing or administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a:
  • Patient Access Training Manager
  • Revenue Cycle Training Manager
  • Education Manager
  • Organizational Development Leader
  • Experience supporting centralized Patient Access operations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading multi-site or enterprise healthcare training initiatives.
  • Oracle experience is preferred


Leadership Responsibilities

  • Directly oversee an existing team of training professionals, including Training Managers and Trainers.
  • Build and scale the Patient Access training organization as enterprise operations continue to centralize.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and operational excellence.


Travel Requirements

  • Remote position with periodic travel to the clients Health facilities.
  • Travel will primarily be to Kalamazoo, Michigan & South Bend, IN with additional travel as business needs require.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
