Medical Laboratory Technologist – Evening Shift
Full-Time | 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Join Our Growing Clinical Laboratory Team
Our growing private clinical laboratory is seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team for the 5:00 PM–1:00 AM evening shift.
This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional who enjoys a hands-on clinical environment, takes pride in producing accurate patient results, and can work independently while supporting the laboratory team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing on patient specimens with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
- Perform testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Differential Counts, Urinalysis/Microscopy, Coagulation, and infectious disease testing, including Flu A/B and RSV.
- Operate, monitor, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory analyzers.
- Perform and document quality control procedures in accordance with laboratory policies and regulatory requirements.
- Review test results for accuracy and identify and resolve testing or specimen-related issues.
- Enter and maintain accurate patient and test information using the laboratory information system (LIMS).
- Provide guidance and oversight to Laboratory Aides/Assistants and ensure assigned tasks are performed appropriately.
- Maintain adequate laboratory supplies and ensure equipment and work areas are clean, organized, and functioning properly.
- Follow established SOPs, safety procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory and healthcare team members regarding specimen, testing, and result-related issues.
- Participate in laboratory quality improvement and other operational activities.
- Possible weekend rotation if needed. We currently have a Saturday coverage employee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Current Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred.
- Clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Chemistry, Hematology, Differential Counts, Urinalysis/Microscopy, Coagulation, and infectious disease testing.
- Experience with laboratory analyzers, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
- Familiarity with LIMS and laboratory documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical laboratory practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate patient results.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and function effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Able to work and manage evening shift with Laboratory Aid.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
