Job Summary (List Format):



- Profile and Transcribe Orders: Review patient profiles and medication orders for appropriate therapy based on specific patient information; ensure accuracy and timeliness in transcribing and verifying medication orders.

- Dispense Medications: Accurately and promptly dispense medications and prescriptions; process requests via multiple modes (phone, window, fax, computer); ensure paperwork and labeling are completed and signed.

- Medication Checking: Verify unit dose, automated dispensing machine fills, IVs, repackaged and extemporaneous preparations, crash carts, and emergency kits for accuracy; correct patient profiles as needed.

- Sterile Preparations: Oversee and prepare aseptic compounding of IV medications, including hazardous drugs; maintain sterile technique and documentation; manage supplies efficiently.

- Clinical Functions: Participate in clinical initiatives, make appropriate clinical interventions and therapy recommendations; monitor patient therapies and promote formulary compliance.

- Drug Information: Provide accurate and timely drug information to healthcare providers, patients, and families; utilize and interpret drug information resources.

- Performance Improvement & Customer Service: Respond to inquiries professionally; participate in performance improvement and cost-saving initiatives; support departmental goals and supervise pharmacy technicians as needed.

- Education & Training: Complete competency training; participate in the education and training of pharmacy staff, students, and residents; maintain professional development and encourage professional organization membership.



Requirements:

- Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

- Active New Jersey pharmacist license.

- Preferred: 2 years hospital pharmacy experience; oncology/infusion experience.

- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts/week, 9pm–7am (overnight).

- Department: Morristown Pharmacy, Clinical - Allied - Travel category.

- Language: English (speak, read, write).
