What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Oncology Navigator position at Med Center Health?
Serves as a patient educator, care coordinator, system navigator and patient advocate with the mission to improve the care experience for cancer patients. Works collaboratively with the patient and their support system, referring physicians, radiologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, cancer registry, clinical staff, inpatient and outpatient care areas, educational and other healthcare professionals to support the cancer patient from prevention and early detection through diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and survival plan of care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of staff nurse experience with demonstrated leadership skills required.
- Previous oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Kentucky RN license (OR) RN license in a State recognized by the Kentucky Nurse Licensure Compact Act required effective June 1, 2007.
