DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete entire process of payroll administration and all supporting activities.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies and respond to payroll related inquiries from employees and management.
- Prepare payroll reports and collaborate with HR/Scheduling on payroll related issues.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger liability accounts and other accounts as required.
- Accurately report and reconcile employee retirement and 401(k) contributions.
- Coordinate with plan providers for uploads, changes and compliance.
- Assist as needed with year-end and the annual budget processes to include payroll projections and analysis.
- Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and monitoring work activities to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Provide support and back-up as needed to other areas of the Finance Department.
- Process weekly patient refunds initiated by the Revenue Department.
- Complete property escheats as required by the associated state’s escheat laws.
- Participate in other finance projects as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- BA/BS in Finance or Business Administration preferred.
- Three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in finance activities and a working knowledge of full-cycle accounting.
- Must be a self-starter able to work independently and provide solutions as issues arise.
- Must have the ability to decide the course of action and communicate decisions effectively to Finance Supervisor/Manager.
- Must have the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, and problem solving to achieve results.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
- CPFO (Certified Public Finance Officer) preferred
- CGFM (Certified Government Financial Manager) preferred
- Finance, Governmental Finance, Public Sector Finance & Accounting (AP/AR) experience preferred
