What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Automotive Technician position at Mechanista?

Mechanista is seeking an independent, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and safety conscious individual with a passion for gender equity, education, customer service, vehicle and equipment maintenance to join our community as our lead automotive technician.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshooting, identifying and repairing malfunctions in cars
Record-keeping of parts and repairs made
Making sure safe work practices and procedures are followed
Mentoring and training a small team of female and non-binary apprentices
Budgeting for the department
Providing innovative solutions with respect to productivity, capacity and cost improvement
REQUIREMENTS:
5-7 years automotive technician experience, at least 3 years of prior experience in a leadership/supervisory role
ASE certificates preferred
Exceptional technical aptitude, organization skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound business acumen
Creative ability fabricate improvements to equipment design, innovation and thinking "outside the box"
Demonstrated leadership experience and abilities including flexibility, communication, and team development
Valid drivers' license and clean driving record
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
Capability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and good physical dexterity
