Commercial Sheet Metal Working Foreman
$130,000–$160,000 Annual Earning Potential | $2,500 Sign-On Bonus | NYC Metro
We are hiring an experienced Commercial Sheet Metal Working Foreman to lead a small field crew performing commercial ductwork, damper repairs, and mechanical retrofit work throughout the NYC metro area.
This is an opportunity for an experienced foreman or lead mechanic who wants steady commercial work, strong earning potential, and a path into greater field leadership as the company grows.
You do not need specialized fire/smoke damper experience. If you're strong with commercial ductwork, know how to lead a crew, and can solve problems in the field, we can train you on the specialized work.
What You'll Do
- Lead a crew of approximately 2–4 field employees
- Perform and oversee commercial ductwork and damper repairs
- Cut, modify, patch, and install ductwork, access doors, dampers, and transitions
- Coordinate materials, tools, and project requirements
- Train and mentor less-experienced technicians
- Communicate with facility personnel and company leadership
- Keep projects moving safely, professionally, and on schedule
Most of the work is in hospitals and healthcare facilities, with additional university, school, and institutional projects.
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of commercial ductwork or sheet metal experience
- Foreman, lead mechanic, or senior technician experience
- Strong hands-on ductwork knowledge
- Ability to lead while still working alongside your crew
- Professional communication and customer-facing skills
- Valid driver's license
Fire/smoke damper, controls, BMS, air balancing, firestopping, and healthcare experience are strong pluses, but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- $130,000–$160,000 annual earning potential, including available overtime
- $2,500 sign-on bonus after 6 months

Schedule & Travel
Most projects are throughout New York City and the surrounding metro area.
The normal schedule is approximately 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with opportunities for additional earnings through evening, weekend, and other off-hours project work.
There is no on-call requirement.
Employees typically dispatch directly to the project rather than reporting to a shop every morning.
