Quality Engineer-Summer Intern

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing production lines and devising test procedures to identify manufacturing deficiencies that cause quality control issues
• Developing standards for the department
• Documenting how systems work and analyzing the state of the system
• Writing, executing and managing test cases
• Process documentation, workflows, process improvement, and help build standards
• Forming tools and ideas needed for day-to-day management
• Participating in designing metrics for measuring performance and process improvements
• Providing suppliers with technical oversight and expertise in areas such as process development, Lean Six Sigma tools, measurement systems, preventive maintenance, and mistake proofing

Required Skills:

• Basic understanding of engineering principles, quality control processes and manufacturing workflows
• Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies or process deviations
• Strong analytical thinking to troubleshoot quality issues and suggest solutions
• Ability to document findings, write reports and effectively communicate with teams
• High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software packages
• Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens)

Desired Skills:

• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
• Familiarity with tools like calipers, micrometers or CMM
• Internship or project experience in quality engineering, manufacturing or product testing
