Meaningful Beginnings has proudly served families since 2013, providing high‑quality Infant/Toddler care, Preschool, and Transitional Kindergarten programs for children ages 0–6. Availability & Opening Timeline: Please note that this position is for a center scheduled to open later in Summer 2026. Final start dates and onboarding timelines will align with licensing approval, enrollment readiness, and operational needs leading up to opening.
Role Overview:
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally rich, engaging, and age‑appropriate curriculum for children ages 3–5. This role fosters early academic foundations, social‑emotional development, independence, and creativity within a warm, supportive classroom environment. The Preschool Teacher ensures safety, maintains licensing standards, builds strong family partnerships, and supports children in developing the skills needed for kindergarten readiness.
Curriculum & Instruction:
- Plan and implement weekly and monthly curriculum aligned with developmental goals and program standards.
- Facilitate learning through hands-on activities in literacy, early math, science, art, music, dramatic play, and motor development.
- Create intentional learning environments that promote creativity, independence, and exploration.
- Support children’s social‑emotional growth through modeling, guided interactions, and problem‑solving strategies.
- Modify lessons and provide differentiated instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Encourage language development and early literacy through conversation, storytelling, and print‑rich environments.
Classroom Environment & Safety:
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inviting classroom environment that supports active learning.
- Ensure all materials, furniture, and equipment are developmentally appropriate and meet licensing safety standards.
- Supervise children at all times using active and engaged supervision.
- Maintain sanitation practices, including cleaning schedules and daily environment checks.
- Support children with toileting, hygiene routines, and emerging independence in self‑care.
- Oversee outdoor play and ensure safe participation in all activities.
Observation, Documentation & Assessment:
- Observe and document each child’s developmental progress.
- Maintain individual portfolios and Learning Genie documentation.
- Conduct annual developmental assessments and share results with families.
- Identify developmental needs and collaborate with leadership to provide additional support when needed.
- Track attendance, behavioral notes, and classroom records with accuracy and confidentiality.
Family Partnerships:
- Build strong, warm, and professional relationships with families.
- Maintain open communication about curriculum themes, daily activities, achievements, and concerns.
- Conduct parent‑teacher conferences and developmental check‑ins.
- Provide families with resources, guidance, and support aligned with program values.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all family interactions.
Collaboration & Professionalism:
- Work collaboratively with classroom aides, assistants, and volunteers.
- Mentor and support team members in daily routines and classroom expectations.
- Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and professional development.
- Demonstrate positive communication, flexibility, and a growth‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 ECE semester units in core Child Development areas (Child Growth & Development, Child/Family/Community, Curriculum).
- Experience working with preschool‑age children in a licensed setting preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) and early childhood learning standards.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
Physical Requirements (ADA‑Compliant):
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent bending, standing, floor play, and movement.
- Ability to navigate classroom and playground environments safely.
