We are looking for a Gift Processor who will be responsible for processing, receipting, and acknowledging all financial contributions in accordance with IRS and MOWP GAP standards. The person in this role handles gift processing, maintenance of donor and financial records, and assists in developing SOPs for gift processing and receipting. The Gift processor collaborates with development team members to implement stewardship strategies and best practice to help cultivate relationships with new and existing donors. The person in this role works closely with the Sr. Fundraising and Database Manager and Finance staff on monthly and annual reconciliation as well as assists department staff with general administrative tasks and special events as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Accurately enters and receipts gift checks, valuing and entering stock gifts, online gifts, monthly gifts, directly deposited gifts, attaches financial records etc. using Raiser’s Edge NXT

Researches and resolves discrepancies in donor and financial records

Obtains and maintains a proper backup for all gifts

Completes closing duties each month, reconciling gift activity with finance department staff

Generates appropriate acknowledgements and/or receipts for donors in a timely manner

Assists in database maintenance tasks

Assists in overseeing and training on-call staff

Follows up with donor inquiries via telephone, email, and or mail

Manages volunteer projects (envelope stuffing, handwriting cards)

Tracks and reports progress using specific metrics

Assists department staff with general administrative tasks and special events as assigned

Other duties as assigned.
Education & Knowledge
- Associate's Degree or combination of relevant experience
- Familiarity with basic gift accounting principles, relevant IRS rulings, and charitable gift guidelines.
- Knowledge of Fundraising in the non-profit environment
- Understanding of professional fundraising ethics and codes of conduct
Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Experience in financial operations, record keeping, transaction inquiry and cash or cash-equivalent handling
- Experience with fundraising and relationship management database tools such as Raiser's Edge NXT software, eTapestry, SalesForce or equivalent
- A commitment to exceptional donor relations and stewardship
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills including tact, patience, and courtesy
- Agility with information management software including MS Word & Excel - ability to work with large and complex file banks, spreadsheets, and databases
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal and presentation skills
- Passion for building relationships and working with people
- Proven success in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Skill and ability to consistently produce results and achieve goals and objectives
- Skill, motivation and ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse populations
- Willing to work limited extended hours to support special activities and other deadlines
- Passion for serving seniors in our community

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Fast paced, with significant people interaction. Occasional lifting over 30 pounds to set up for events, minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard, mouse and phone. Must pass drug and alcohol test and criminal background check.
