About Meals on Wheels Fort Collins
The mission of Meals on Wheels for Fort Collins is to support the dignity, well-being and independence of primarily homebound older adults and eligible clients in our community with a hot, nutritious meal and social interaction for up to 5 days of a week.
Position Overview
The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Meals on Wheels Fort Collins by supporting fundraising initiatives, strengthening donor relations along with the Executive Director and helping grow community support. This part-time position manages the donor database systems, along with donor acknowledgement letters, assists with campaigns and events, and ensures that donors and community partners feel appreciated and connected to our work.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Maintain accurate donor records and manage the donor database.
- Process donations and prepare timely acknowledgment letters and receipts.
- Support donor stewardship through personalized communications, mailings, and outreach.
Fundraising & Campaigns
- Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals and online giving efforts.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising events.
- Collaborate with staff to create donor-centered communication materials, including newsletters and social media content.
Social Media & Communications
· Manage organizational social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) to engage the community and highlight impact.
· Develop and schedule regular content (posts, graphics, stories) aligned with fundraising campaigns and events.
· Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages, and track performance metrics.
· Support website updates and e-newsletters as needed.
Administrative & Coordination
- Maintain organized digital and physical development files.
- Prepare development reports and data summaries for the Executive Director and Board of Directors
- Assist with special projects as needed to support fundraising and community engagement.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred degree in marketing, business administration or related field
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or development preferred.
- Preferred skills in Canva or basic graphic design.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with donor management software preferred.
- Passion for the mission of Meals on Wheels and a team-oriented, community-focused mindset.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time, 25 hours per week.
- Hourly rate: $22–$24 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- Flexible scheduling available; some evenings or weekends may be required for events.
