The Cherry City Electric Summer Helper is designed to give you valuable real-world experience in the electrical and data-communications construction industry. Summer Helpers typically work full-time hours during our 8-10 week paid program.
Locations
- Salem, Oregon or on jobsites in the surrounding areas
- Vancouver, Washington or on jobsites in the surrounding areas
- Basic change order estimating and counting of electrical items
- Quantify electrical items for purchase; light fixtures, wiring devices, etc.
- Enter field labor timecards and generate labor reports
- Assist with document control; printing, filing, organizing plans, specifications, RFI’s and construction documents
- Prepare basic material submittals and manage their submission and distribution
- Maintain various tracking logs and update information
- Assist with construction safety implementation and record keeping
- Assist in maintaining time keeping records of Field Work Orders on Time & Material change orders
- Assist in development of purchase order directives and subcontract work orders
- Coordinate with project material vendors and subcontractors
- Assist with material tracking and expediting
- Assist in managing inspection requests and punch list
- Prefer candidates who have completed coursework in Construction Management, Construction Architecture, Engineering (or related field), or have equivalent work experience and have chosen the construction/engineering field as their career preference
- Honest and accountable – able to use discretion with sensitive information
