Job Summary: As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be a key part of our sales team, working directly with contractors, builders, and walk-in customers to support their building material needs. Your primary responsibility will be to understand customer requirements, recommend the right products, and drive sales—both in person at the sales counter and over the phone. You’ll also help with processing transactions, managing inventory, and maintaining a professional and organized sales environment.

Pay for this Role: $17 an hour

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers at the sales counter and over the phone to understand their needs and recommend appropriate building materials and solutions
• Prepare quotes, process orders, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Develop strong product knowledge to confidently answer questions and offer recommendations
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, and repeat customers
• Handle inquiries, resolve issues, and process returns with professionalism and efficiency
• Collaborate with warehouse and yard teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery
• Support merchandising, stocking, and pricing of products in the sales area
• Stay informed about new products, promotions, and industry trends
  
  

Desired Skills, Knowledge, And Qualifications

• Prior sales experience in construction or building materials is a plus
• Construction knowledge or hands-on building experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities
• Capable of safely lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs. throughout the workday
• Basic math and computer skills required
