Mead & Hunt has an exciting opportunity for a limited-term, full-time summer position within our Transportation group starting May/June 2026 and ending in August/September 2026 in our Charleston, WV location providing valuable exposure to real-world transportation projects and the chance to contribute meaningfully to our team’s success.
Responsibilities Include
Interns will be expected to visit project sites for data collection as well as out-of-office meetings and events. Therefore, a valid driver’s license is recommended.

Responsibilities Include
- Assisting with conducting topographic surveys and boundary surveys
- Familiarity with data collecting and/or robotic total station
- Experience with GPS devices
- Experience conducting topographic and/or boundary surveys
- Experience conducting courthouse research related to surveys
- Assisting with construction staking
- Exposure to projects and people in all of our transportation groups
- Collaborate with project managers and colleagues on multiple transportation projects that vary in size and scope while developing familiarity with the federal, state, and local design standards
- Utilize technical software programs to analyze, prepare, and quality check client deliverables.
- Field observations and data collection
- Assist with preparation of technical reports and memos
- Participation in technical and client meetings
- Fun team-building activities that will allow you to network with professionals and interns alike
