Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is available for an experienced civil engineer to join our collaborative and innovative aviation team in our Bismarck, ND or Rapid City, SD office location. This position will include a hybrid of both design and field work on runways, taxiways, aprons, highways, roads, and other related civil engineering projects as needed.

Responsibilities Include

• Managing, designing and leading airport civil engineering projects
• Evaluating and analyzing existing projects
• Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
• Performing QA/QC tasks including leading design reviews
• Developing construction cost estimates for projects
• Serving as the onsite project engineer on construction projects as needed
• Visiting project sites to monitor progress and handling routine construction administration
• Assisting with client communications and attending client meetings.
• Other tasks as assigned.
  
  

A valid driver’s license and frequent travel (including some overnights) will be required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Background

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering, construction engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university
• At least 4 years of relevant work experience
• PE License in the state of ND, SD, or ability to obtain in additional states as needed.
  
  

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all the following:

• Previous experience on airport or transportation projects is preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
• Heavy civil construction experience.
