Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a Controller to support our finance department.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Finance Director to oversee the daily operations of accounting such as but not limited to staff accountants, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Assisting with annual business plan and leading annual budget
- Managing and maintaining accounting and banking relationships
- Leading financial audits
- Providing leadership/supervision to direct reports and prioritizing workloads
- Verifying journal entries, month end close, and FAR compliance procedures
- Reviewing monthly financial statement preparation, complete analysis, and provide financial support to management
- Coordinating local and state tax reporting and notices
- Administering accounting system operations
- Leading ongoing improvement and refinement and maintaining strong internal controls
- Conducting financial planning activities, preparing cash forecasts, and analyzing budgets
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
The successful candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least ten (10) years of relevant experience
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
- Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Accounting and banking relationships
- Annual budget and business plan
- Supervising and mentoring staff
- General ledger analysis, month end close outs, financial data analysis
- Software conversions and updates
- Corporate, state, local taxes and financial audits
- Accounting software (Deltek Vision, Dynamics)
The ideal candidate will also be a certified public accountant.
