Airport Civil Engineering Intern

As a result of our expansive growth, we have a position available for a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to perform construction inspection on construction sites for airport projects based in Seattle, WA (and other various project sites located within the states of OR and WA) starting in May/June 2027 and ending in August/September 2027.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting engineers, technicians, and construction managers with civil airport engineering projects in the following areas: taxiways, runways, aprons, etc.
• Performing measurements and quantity calculations and preparing pay estimates
• Assisting with project report preparation
• Performing field inspection and documentation
• Some technical research and writing
• Other tasks as assigned

A valid driver’s license, positive driving record, and the ability to pass background checks to gain access to airport sites is required. Frequent local travel to construction sites and other Pacific Northwest locations (may also include overnight stays) will be required.

Successful candidates must have:

• Completed at least two (2) semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering from an accredited college or university by date of hire

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following: 

• Previous internships involving construction, DOT projects, and/or civil site inspections
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Civil3D software
• Understanding of basic grading and testing processes
• Knowledge of airport planning and/or design
• Civil engineering coursework

Hourly Rate Range: $23.00 - $27.00 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
