What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer - Aviation position at Mead & Hunt, Inc?
Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is available for an Experienced Aviation Engineer at our Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio, TX office location, to plan, design and manage tasks for engineering projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Serves as a project engineer on projects and as a technical resource and/or project manager
- May assist with or lead marketing pursuits and/or act as a client contact
- May serve as engineer in charge to review, approve, and apply professional engineering seals to final plans and specifications
- May perform supervisory duties related to the assigned projects
- Assists with pricing, estimating, and scoping for proposed projects
- Prepares and/or monitors budgets and work-in-process for specific tasks within assigned projects
- Develops probable construction cost estimates for specific tasks within assigned projects
- Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and designs for projects
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
- Performs and/or oversees quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual
- Visits project sites to monitor progress and handles routine construction administration
- May serve as onsite project representative
- Attends client meetings - days or nights
The successful candidate will have:
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least six (6) years of aviation industry experience
- A PE license is required (TX preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- Experience leading aviation design and construction projects
- Construction management experience
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
