What are the responsibilities and job description for the Airport Civil Engineering Intern position at Mead & Hunt, Inc?
Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an exciting opportunity available for a limited-term, full-time engineering intern to work next summer on aviation projects in our Rapid City, SD office starting in May/June 2026 and ending in August/September 2026.
Responsibilities include assisting engineers, design technicians, and surveyors with civil engineering projects; performing design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates; assisting with project report preparation; performing field inspections and survey work.
A valid driver's license and some travel may be required.
Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited college or university by date of hire.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:
- construction field experience
- knowledge of AutoCAD software
- proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- understanding of basic grading and testing processes
- knowledge of airport planning and/or design
