What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Architect position at MDP Global?
We are partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit technology organization providing high-speed connectivity, cybersecurity, and network services to K-12 schools, universities, healthcare providers, libraries, and government agencies.
This position involves designing and supporting next-generation IP/MPLS and optical networks that serve education, healthcare, government, and public safety organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop network service offerings and proof-of-concept labs
- Support network operations, configurations, security, and best practices
- Participate in pre-sales engineering and RFP responses
- Create bills of material and contribute to capital planning
Requirements
- 5 years of progressive experience in service provider / ISP networking
- Strong hands-on experience with BGP, MPLS (L3 VPN, EoMPLS, VPLS), Segment Routing, EVPN, and Carrier Ethernet
- Experience with Cisco carrier-class platforms (ASR 9000, NCS 540) and IOS XR / IOS XE
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix and network automation/scripting
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Nice to have: Python, SD-WAN, DWDM/optical experience, QoS.
This is a hybrid role (must live within commuting distance of the Raleigh-Durham, NC)
Up to $150k with a full benefits package
