Open position for a postdoctoral fellow in the Updike Lab at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine.
Position Description
The Updike Lab at MDI Bio Lab uses Caenorhabditis elegans to investigate gene function in the germline, with a particular focus on epigenetic mechanisms that maintain germ cell identity.
Postdoctoral fellows will be expected to apply for NIH or equivalent external funding within their first two years. Projects are designed to be developed and taken forward by the postdoc as the foundation of an independent research program.
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field
- Ability to write academic papers and grant proposals
Special Position Requirements and/or Preferences
Ability to present research at conferences or seminars
