The MDI Biological Laboratory, located in Bar Harbor, Maine, is a 125-year-old independent biomedical research institution specializing in understanding the biology of aging and regeneration. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
The Events Coordinator is a central role, responsible for planning and delivering effective donor, alumni, educational, and community engagement events for MDI Bio Lab. The position requires robust problem solving, organizational and communication skills, the ability to successfully manage and complete multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines, and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include three or more years of experience with office administration, hospitality, customer service, and/or event coordination; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a busy environment; highly detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills; and a flexible, collaborative working style.
Preferences
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, experience working in a non-profit setting, in-person and virtual events management, familiarity with software such as Zoom, Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge (NXT) or other donor management system.
Work Requirements
This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position with excellent benefits, including health, dental and life insurance, and a generous retirement matching plan. Hours may be variable, especially during the summer events season.
Salary Range
$22.00-$29.00 per hour depending on experience
