Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centers (Mission-Critical)
📍 Houston, TX (Hybrid)

I’m currently partnering with a leading engineering firm to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center projects (10MW–500MW ).
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a technical leadership role working on hyperscale and enterprise facilities that power today’s digital world.
- Lead electrical design for mission-critical data centers (MV systems, UPS, generators, redundancy strategies)
- Design power distribution systems from utility connection through to rack-level infrastructure
- Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination, harmonics)
- Produce key deliverables including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, grounding, and lighting designs
- Coordinate with utilities on capacity, redundancy, and service requirements
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and Uptime Institute standards
- Support construction, commissioning, and system testing
- Collaborate across MEP teams on space, cooling, and infrastructure optimization
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- PE license required
- 7 years of experience (including data center or mission-critical projects)
- Experience with 480V/277V medium voltage systems, UPS, generators, ATS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SKM (or similar)
- Strong understanding of ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and industry best practices
- Experience delivering $50M projects
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Master’s degree
- Certifications: RCDD, CEM, LEED AP, Uptime Institute
- Experience with hyperscale data centers (100MW )
- Knowledge of sustainability, energy storage, and PUE optimization
- Experience with colocation/cloud environments or secure facilities
- Work on cutting-edge, large-scale data center projects
