What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Solutions Specialist - LBM ERP position at MCS Group - USA | Your Specialist Recruitment Firm?
Software Solutions Specialist - LBM ERP
Multiple positions | Remote - North America
Are you someone who genuinely understands how lumber and building materials businesses operate, not just how the software works?
We're partnering with an established ERP software company that is looking for multiple Software Solutions Specialists to bring practical LBM knowledge into customer implementations and help shape how its platform supports the industry.
These are not traditional software support or project management positions. You'll act as a bridge between customers, implementation teams, and product and development colleagues, ensuring each solution reflects how LBM businesses operate in the real world.
The role
- Work directly with LBM customers to understand their operations, challenges and priorities
- Review existing workflows and recommend practical improvements
- Help customers decide how their processes should operate within the ERP platform
- Provide specialist input throughout customer onboarding and implementation
- Advise on areas such as purchasing, inventory, pricing, sales, warehousing, distribution and branch operations
- Work alongside project, consulting and technical teams to resolve complex requirements
- Explain customer needs clearly to product and software development colleagues
- Recognize common challenges across customers and help develop more consistent solutions
- Support customer workshops, training sessions and key project meetings
- Share LBM and ERP knowledge with colleagues across the wider business
The right person
The ideal person will have gained their experience through one of two routes:
- Working for an ERP software provider supporting customers in the LBM industry
- Taking responsibility for the internal ERP platform within an LBM dealer, distributor or multi-location building-materials business
You’ll understand how LBM businesses operate in practice and how areas such as purchasing, inventory, pricing, sales, dispatch, warehousing and branch operations connect within an ERP platform.
You could be a strong fit if you have:
- Hands-on experience with an LBM-focused ERP
- Worked directly with operational teams to understand their processes and system requirements
- Recommended how an ERP could be configured or used more effectively
- Led or supported ERP implementations, upgrades or business-process improvements
- Identified where a customer needed to change its process and where the software itself needed to evolve
- Worked with implementation, product or development teams to turn operational requirements into practical solutions
- Led customer workshops, discovery sessions, training or conversations with operational leaders
- The confidence to question existing processes and recommend a better approach
- Strong communication skills and credibility with both senior stakeholders and hands-on users
You don’t need to follow one exact career path. What matters most is combining credible LBM knowledge with practical ERP experience and the ability to advise customers effectively.
What's on offer
- Multiple positions available
- Remote working within North America
- Competitive compensation
- Comprehensive benefits
- The opportunity to influence customer outcomes and the future development of an industry-focused ERP platform
If you understand both LBM operations and the role technology plays in improving them, we'd be interested in speaking with you. Apply today.
