Job DescriptionMcQuade is seeking a Superintendent to lead select high-end residential builds and remodels. The position offers an opportunity to lead teams of sub-contractors and craftsmen who are dedicated to the highest levels of quality - serving the Greater Los Angeles area.Job DetailsAs superintendent, you’ll be the on-site construction manager, in charge of building and remodeling one-of-a-kind architecture. You’ll be responsible for:Ensuring work is performed safely, in accordance with plans and specifications, and in compliance with local building codesDaily on-site problem-solvingQuality Control (both onsite and off) throughout project lifecyclePartnering with the project manager to develop and manage the project schedule within a shared Gantt document; contributing to estimate creation in pre-construction phaseMaintaining plans, specifications, as-builts, and other necessary documentationManaging subcontractors and all related elements (i.e., scheduling, evaluating work performed, safety compliance, submittal review, shop drawings, RFIs)Managing entire field crew and maximizing supplier relationships, keeping communication open and professionalDaily walk-throughs and job log of all required information (i.e., personnel, owner visits, inspectors, architects, hazard identification and abatement, weather, near misses)Professionally representing McQuade with clients, architects, owner’s reps, project managers, subcontractors, management, field staff, and neighbors/HOA representativesCoordinating material deliveries, handling, storage, and placement (with foreman support)Training and directing field crew and conducting performance evaluationsMaintaining job site security (i.e., ensure safety of all people, tools, and materials)Your Skillset/QualificationsTo be successful as a superintendent, you’ll need:2 or more years of superintendent experience (high-end custom residential preferred)Ability to communicate, digitally, with proficiencyAbility to Schedule and Work with Often-Adjusting timelinesMaintain a written daily log with photos of activities on the job site.Maintain 3-week look ahead schedules and work with Project Managers and Project Engineers to update schedules and forecast any upcoming delays.Experience working through design details and construction challenges directly with architects and designers to achieve design intentAbility to read and interpret architectural drawings and specificationsExcellent communication, team-building and mentoring skillsTechnical building knowledge and experience with both traditional and new materials and methodsProficiency with Google Suite (Drive, Docs and Sheets)The ability and desire to travel for projects as needs arise. Salary : $85,000 - $180,000
