Sterile Processing Technologist Job Summary: Technologist coordinates and collaborates with the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for daily surgical procedures in surgery and related departments.

- Clean, prepare, document, and terminally sterilize instruments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintains competency of operating sterilizing equipment, instrumentation and supplies in the surgical setting.
- Responsible for the coordination, assembly, and distribution of equipment and instruments for surgical cases.
- Monitor surgery schedules daily, identifying general, specific, and potential needs for all cases.
- Possesses strong communication and organization skills.
- Maintains flexibility to adjust hours and duties as needed.
- Always exhibit professionalism.
- Maintains all credentialing satisfactorily.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred completion of a National Central Service Technician course or Surgical Technologist program.
- Preferred 6 months experience as a Sterile Process Technician
- Ability to lift 10-20 lbs.; occasional life of heavy wight of 50 lbs. (moving patients)
- Excellent organizational and strong communication skills
- Ability to adjust work pace on a situational basis especially in times of emergency.
- Accurately maintaining the sterilization process records.
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer skills related to Microsoft applications and EMR.
- Competent knowledge base of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment
