Title: Security Contracts Intern
Department: Governance, Risk, and Compliance
Position Summary:
This is an in-person, flexible schedule internship, designed to be paired with coursework; the Security Contracts Intern position is expected to require approximately 30 to 40 hours of work per week and will last a total of ten (10) weeks starting from May to early August. The Security Contracts Intern supports the Information Security team in enhancing MCPC's contract compliance operations by centralizing and cataloging security, IT, and compliance obligations across the customer portfolio. The intern will contribute to the development of a structured tracking framework that strengthens visibility into contractual commitments and supports ongoing governance efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Information Security team in centralizing security and compliance obligations from customer contracts into a structured, standardized format.
• Catalog contractual commitments by theme (e.g., data handling, incident response, access controls, audit rights, regulatory compliance) to support compliance tracking and reporting.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of a repeatable framework for managing and monitoring contractual security obligations.
• Conduct research on industry-standard compliance frameworks and contractual best practices to support the team's ongoing governance initiatives.
• Propose contract amendments and modifications as necessary.
• Prepare summaries and documentation to support internal reviews and security program operations.
Key Outcomes of this Position:
• A centralized, well-organized reference of security and IT obligations across MCPC's customer contracts, enhancing the team's ability to manage compliance activities efficiently.
• A scalable categorization framework that supports consistent tracking of contractual obligations across current and future customer engagements.
Required Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's or master's program in a relevant field such as Legal Studies, Pre-Law, Information Security, IT Management, or Business Administration.
• Strong reading comprehension and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret contractual and legal language.
• Foundational understanding of information security and information technology concepts such as access controls, data protection, incident response, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data organization, filtering, and basic formatting.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently on document-intensive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor (J.D.) program (1st or 2nd year), particularly with coursework in privacy, cybersecurity, or technology law.
