JOB DESCRIPTION
The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role focuses on managing servers, storage, networking, cloud environments, and related systems to support business operations effectively. The manager will lead infrastructure teams, oversee system performance, and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Strong leadership, technical expertise, and operational management skills are essential to maintain a robust and reliable IT foundation.
Current Hands on Engineering/Technical Expertise is a huge plus!
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning and Leadership
- Develop and implement infrastructure strategies:
- Align infrastructure initiatives with organizational goals.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve performance and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage vendor relationships and contracts.
- Lead and manage infrastructure teams:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Ensure effective communication between IT teams and business units.
- Allocate resources to support organizational needs effectively.
Operational Management and Service Delivery
- Oversee daily operations of IT infrastructure:
- Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of servers, storage, networks, and cloud systems.
- Monitor system health and proactively address potential issues.
- Incident and Problem Management:
- Implement processes for timely resolution of infrastructure-related issues.
- Develop and enforce policies for system security and operational standards.
- Service Level Management:
- Monitor and report on performance against SLAs.
- Continuously improve processes to meet or exceed service expectations.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Gather feedback from stakeholders to enhance infrastructure services.
- Maintain accurate documentation for systems and processes.
- Project Management:
- Plan and execute infrastructure projects (e.g., data center upgrades, cloud migrations).
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, networking, and systems administration.
- Previous management experience in IT preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, PMP) are a plus.
