Job Summary
McNelly Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Locksmith Technician to perform commercial locksmith, door hardware, and access control service, installation, maintenance, and repairs at customer locations throughout the Chicagoland area.
The Locksmith Technician will work with mechanical locking systems, master key systems, doors and door hardware, and electronic access control systems while completing scheduled service calls and responding to after-hours service needs as required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Install, service, repair, and re-key commercial locks, doors, and door hardware
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical locking and electronic access control systems
- Install and repair hydraulic door closing fixtures and related hardware
- Cut, duplicate, identify, and issue keys while maintaining appropriate records
- Interpret and maintain master key systems
- Review and complete electronic work orders using a smartphone
- Determine required scope of work and document services performed
- Maintain inventory and supplies on assigned service vehicle
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service calls as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- 1 years of directly related locksmith experience
- Ability to install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and re-key commercial locks and hardware
- Experience with mechanical locking and electronic access control systems
- Knowledge of master key systems
- Ability to safely operate applicable hand and power tools
- Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL) certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, as the position requires regular travel to customer locations and operation of a company vehicle
- Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call assignments as business needs require
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, crouch, kneel, and crawl
- Ability to stand for extended periods, including up to 8 hours
- Ability to perform work overhead
