Job Overview
Hospital Hospitality House of Saginaw is a nonprofit organization that serves as a home away from home to out-of-town patients and families receiving medical care in Saginaw. We are open 24/7/365, so all staff must be willing and able to work various shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Our Hospitality Housekeeper helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and their families who are receiving medical care at the surrounding hospitals. This role is responsible for housekeeping, cleaning, light laundry, and related hospitality tasks in guest rooms and common areas. In addition, the Hospitality Housekeeper supports front desk operations by interacting respectfully and compassionately with guests, assisting with check-in and check-out, entering information into guest registration software, answering phones, and providing exceptional customer service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a standard level of cleanliness on all common guest areas, including dining room, kitchen, living area, etc.
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms and bathrooms
- Wash, fold, and put away linens and towels
- Enter guest information into the registration software
- Prepare, cook, and serve dinner for guests, as needed

- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Ability to accurately and timely follow written and verbal instructions
- Follow house cleaning protocols and procedures
- Ability to provide excellent customer service

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of computers and ability to input data into software
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with guests
- Prior housekeeping and/or non-profit experience is a plus, but not required
- Basic understanding of safe cleaning practices, including proper use of cleaning agents and equipment
- Ability to interact with individuals who may be under stress due to medical situations, with compassion and patience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching
- Ability to operate common cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, mops, floor cleaners) safely
- Ability to tolerate exposure to typical cleaning chemicals, with appropriate protective equipment provided
