Position Summary:
The Avasys Telesitter will provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patient(s) via the Avasys Telemonitoring system, and will summon the RN if the patient requires assistance or other nursing interventions. The sitter is knowledgeable of and compliant with patient confidentiality and related medical center policies .
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
One year of prior work experience in Acute care/Medical experience preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates understanding and proficiency of the use of the Avasys Telesitter solution software, mobile unit and appropriate patient interventions.
- Provides constant visual observation of multiple patients using a monitor.
- Participates in hand-off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment.
- Arranges meal break times with Nursing Supervisor or Manager and assuresreplacement in place prior to leaving monitoring station for any reason so that relief may be provided to ensure constant patient observation.
- Seeks help or advice as soon as possible when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others.
- Participates in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
- Assures patient environment safety.
- Seeks assistance with removal of any potential safety hazard from room and reports findings to Charge Nurse.
- Performs other related job duties as requested.
- High School Diploma or GED
- No prior work experience is required.
One year of prior work experience in Acute care/Medical experience preferred.
