Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting the employee health nurse for the daily operations and functions of employee health services. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks from administrative work to caring for McLaren new hire candidates and employees performing a variety of medical procedures and tests including, but not limited to, vital signs, drug testing, fit testing, administering vaccines and medications as well as performing venipuncture.

Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting the employee health nurse for the daily operations and functions of employee health services. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks from administrative work to caring for McLaren new hire candidates and employees performing a variety of medical procedures and tests including, but not limited to, vital signs, drug testing, fit testing, administering vaccines and medications as well as performing venipuncture.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performs daily administrative activities including answering phones, appointment scheduling, and employee health medical record maintenance.
- Administers tuberculosis testing for all employees. Conducts appropriate follow-up of positive results and ensures compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Administers vaccines as required by policy. Records all vaccination information in accordance with policy and federal law.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation of employee health records; maintains and ensures confidentiality of all employee files.
- Provides and assists with fit testing for all employees.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program (OR) one year of prior work experience as a Medical Assistant
- BLS Certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.
- Current state Licensed Practical Nurse (OR) Medical Assistant certification.
- Three years of prior work experience in a medical setting.
- Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) / Train the Trainer (TTT) certified.
- Certification and/or experience with point of care drug testing
