Job Summary
We are seeking a Associate Attorney to join our Family Law firm and provide high-quality legal representation to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.
Duties
- Handle assigned caseload in areas including (but not limited to) divorce, custody, support, protection from abuse, adoption, guardianship, and other family law matters.
- Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and other court filings.
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Keep clients informed about case progress and provide timely responses to inquiries.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and statutory interpretation.
- Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, briefs, and client correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Prepare for trial proceedings, and hearings by organizing evidence and developing case strategies.
- Manage legal case files efficiently through case management systems, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Engage in client communication by providing clear updates on case progress and legal options while maintaining professionalism.
- Assist in trial preparation by coordinating witnesses, exhibits, and procedural requirements for litigation cases.
- Participate in negotiations with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required.
- Proven experience in Family Law is highly desirable.
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms for statutory and case law analysis.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents.
- Effective oral advocacy skills demonstrated through court depositions or client negotiations.
- Familiarity with procedural laws governing litigation processes.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with attention to detail and organizational excellence.
- Prior experience working in a law office environment or legal administrative setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and apply findings effectively within diverse practice areas including family law, immigration law, securities regulation, or tribal compliance.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
