The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are adding an Associate Estimator to our growing New Construction division in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating work with sales, engineering and operations personal. Additionally, some responsibilities may include:
Project Estimates
Reviews specifications and RFP documents to determine means, methods and levels of quality required.
Performs subcontractor and vendor estimate reviews.
Communication
Under direct supervision, coordinates estimating work with various disciplines.
Participates in discussions and meetings with subcontractors, vendors, architects, customers and management.
Communicates estimate status with the chief estimator on a daily basis.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
Solid math skills and an analytical approach to considering project scope and methods required.
Knowledge of building systems and applications required.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or engineering or equivalent work experience.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Estimating experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability and willingness to travel regionally.
Physical ability to navigate jobsites in uneven terrain.
Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.

The pay range for this position is $26.83 – $41.65 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
