Responsibilities- Manage and oversee environmental programs, including compliance reporting, permitting, testing, training, and strategic planning.
- Mentor, coach, and direct employees in their assigned environmental areas to promote best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and maintain required government reports related to air, water quality, and solid waste management.
- Prepare applications for, obtain, and maintain all necessary environmental permits.
- Provide technical assistance to operations through data analysis, process monitoring, and up-to-date knowledge of environmental systems and procedures.
- Lead the daily execution of the Environmental Management System and support continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
- Maintain the facility’s Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) program.
- Stay current with environmental regulatory requirements and maintain professional affiliations with relevant organizations.
- Maintain appropriate compliance documentation and demonstrate adherence to all state and federal environmental permitting requirements.
- Conduct engineering project reviews for all environmental-related projects.
- Compile and submit environmental data as requested by the executive team.
- Train and coach managers to enhance engagement in environmental efforts and programs.
- Supervise annual air emission and compliance tests.
- Maintain the Environmental Incident Report database.
- Manage all waste, recycling, and universal waste programs for the facility.
- Maintain monthly regulatory documentation and submit required state and federal environmental reports.
- Champion the implementation of sustainable business practices within the facility.
- Review the environmental impact of proposed chemicals and materials, and approve their use.
- Prepare and maintain facility Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans.
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality in daily activities and long-term projects.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- 5 years of environmental experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory material
- Strong intellectual curiosity and passion for environmental affairs
