We are currently hiring a Transportation Supervisor to oversee 6 Delivery Professionals out of our Chesapeake, VA Cross Dock. The position will work in unison with our distribution center's Transportation Manager. Candidates must be flexible with their hours and be on call for any overnight line haul issues.
Key Responsibilities include:
Typically requires 3 years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities

Current Need
We are currently hiring a Transportation Supervisor to oversee 6 Delivery Professionals out of our Chesapeake, VA Cross Dock. The position will work in unison with our distribution center's Transportation Manager. Candidates must be flexible with their hours and be on call for any overnight line haul issues.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Daily routing of deliveries
- Loading of truck shipments
- Dock security and cleanliness
- Fleet maintenance and readiness
- Scheduling management
- DOT requirements
- Assisting sales & customer service
- Training of fleet drivers
- Travel to cross-dock locations
- Driver ride along
- Performance management of direct reports
Typically requires 3 years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities
Critical Skills
- 2 years transportation experience
- Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills (verbal/written), and management skills
- Ability to train and take part in driver ride-alongs required
- Problem solving experience required
- 4 Years of Transportation and 2 years of leadership experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of RoadNet preferred
- LTL distribution or carrier experience preferred
- Knowledge of area and ability to build routes preferred
- Experience with E1 preferred
- General Office Demands
- Distribution Center environment
- Ride-alongs with drivers out to different cross docks
- May have to drive out to assist with a breakdown
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
