JOB DESCRIPTION
This Business Development Manager will locate opportunities that allow us to leverage our capabilities for success, i.e. size, complexity, manageable risk profiles that set us apart and give us an advantage. Leverage McGrath’s extensive experience in Designing and Constructing facilities, to expand and add new clients and projects to our portfolio. This individual will work in conjunction with Business Unit managers and the President to locate and develop new design and construction business opportunities.
Much of this person's responsibility will be with interfacing with new potential clients to develop future business relationships. Additional responsibilities to support and strengthen relationships amongst existing clients and expand role within existing client base.
This role conducts research, identifies opportunities, establishes and maintains client relationships, prepares proposals, makes presentations, secures new business and monitors client satisfaction. Assists preconstruction team in securing projects.
Research to gain an understanding of the client’s most important needs, and how we can formulate our proposal to meet and exceed expectations.
Some travel throughout the Midwest to meet with potential clients may be required and be dependent on project pipeline.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE
*Solid communication skills.
*Experience in Healthcare, Life Science and Industrial Business Development for Architectural, Engineering or Construction.
*Leverage extensive experience in Life Science and Industrial construction to locate and develop potential new clients.
*Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and assisting in closing opportunities in the Pharmaceutical and Industrial Design and Construction Sector.
*Locate or propose potential design or construction projects.
*Assist in the development of proposals for business opportunities.
*Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
*Self-starter that takes sincere pride in your work.
*Have a stable work history with multiple references.
*Maintain strong work and personal ethics.
*Complete understanding of design and construction process including plans and specifications, and contracts.
*Ability to negotiate.
*Develop long term working relationships with clients, partners and subcontractors.
*Current OSHA 10-hour training minimum.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Bluebeam
This position is considered Safety Sensitive and Mandatory Substance Abuse testing per the St. Louis Construction Industry Substance Abuse Consortium is required.
