Screw Machine Operator
2nd Shift; 2:45pm-11:15pm, Monday – Friday
Hourly rate $24.00 - $29.00/hour DOE plus 10% shift differential
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays as needed

RESPONSIBILITY:
- Operates one or more, typically two, six spindle screw machines.
JOB DUTIES:
- Bench sets collets, feed tubes, feed fingers, drills, and cross side tools.
- Changes collets, bushings, and feed fingers in stock feeding mechanism.
- Changes gears, stops, and cams (if necessary).
- Inspects tools and compares to tool layout verifying all tools and tool holders using various gauges.
- Adjusts tools to bring parts into conformance with print, submits first piece for inspection and starts machine.
- Replaces worn tools and sharpens cut off blades.
- Loads bar stock into bar feed mechanism.
- Performs routine maintenance checks (lube level, cutting oil level, etc.).
- Notifies Lead if tooling is getting low.
- Keep machines and area clean and orderly.
- Weigh parts accurately.
- Empty and spin chips.
- Notify lead person or technical advisor if job is not producing.
- Fill out time slip completely and accurately.
- Perform parts inspections in accordance with Quality Procedure
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in basic math such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 ft. bars (60 pounds max.).
- Ability to stand 75% of the shift.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others.
- Prior lathe experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use calipers and micrometer.
